Toshiba Printer Test Page
Toshiba e-STUDIO devices keep their built-in test under System Settings, in a submenu called List Print. It is deliberately buried, which is why most people never find it until something has already gone wrong.
Set scaling to 100%. Choose Actual Size in the print dialog, never Fit to page — scaling distorts every measurement on this sheet. The Download PDF button hands you that same sheet as a ready-made file, so there is no scaling decision to get wrong.
How to print the Toshiba Printer Test Page
- Load plain white paper and set quality to Best or High.
- Set scaling to Actual Size or 100%, then print this sheet.
- Print the List Print page from the table above and keep both.
- Take status — toner, drum, page counts and network settings — from the device report only.
- Judge density, registration and repeating marks on this sheet.
- Change one variable, reprint the same file, and compare against the first sheet.
Built-in test page by model series
| e-STUDIO, setting mode | System Settings → List Print (User) → Printer Test Page |
| e-STUDIO, User Tools key | User Tools → Printer Features → List / Test Print → Configuration Page |
| Toshiba desk lasers with a panel | Menu → Reports or Report/List → Printer Settings |
| Web interface | Browse to the device IP address → information or reports → print |
| Any Toshiba through the Windows driver | Printer properties → General → Print Test Page |
Reading the result
| List Print and this sheet both come out clean | Engine, queue and supplies are all working. Anything left is in the file or its driver settings. |
| Solids are pale or uneven | Toner is low or the drum is wearing. Compare the remaining-life figure from the device report with what you can actually see here before ordering anything. |
| Text has a light double edge | Registration has drifted, or the transfer is not seating. Run the registration correction from the device menu, then reprint this sheet to confirm rather than assuming. |
| A repeating mark down the page | Measure it. A repeat matching the drum circumference is a drum fault; one matching the fuser is a fuser fault; neither is fixed by a cleaning cycle. |
| Nothing prints from List Print at all | The device is busy, out of paper, or an error is already latched. Clear the panel message first — Toshiba menus accept a print command silently and then drop it if the engine is not ready. |
Also check
- Black and white page — Density and text sharpness without colour conversion standing between you and the print engine.
- Alignment page — Registration and skew are measured rather than guessed, which is what a mono office device most often gets wrong.
- Resolution chart — Confirms the driver is delivering the detail it claims rather than quietly downscaling a dense document.
Related test pages
- B&W printer test page — Removing colour from the equation isolates density, toner coverage and fine detail problems.
- Alignment printer test page — If lines that should be straight come out crooked, or text looks doubled, the printhead is out of alignment. This sheet measures it.
- Laser printer test page — Laser faults live in density, fusing and geometry, and none of them involve nozzles. This sheet measures how evenly toner is laid down and whether it stays on the paper.
Frequently asked questions
How do I print a test page on a Toshiba e-STUDIO machine?
In setting mode, open System Settings, choose List Print (User), then Printer Test Page. On devices exposing a User Tools key the same job sits under Printer Features, then List / Test Print, then Configuration Page.
What does the Toshiba List Print page show?
Settings, installed options, page counts, consumable status and network configuration. It is a status report, not an image test, so it will not reveal banding, weak density or a worn drum.
Why can I not find Printer Test Page in the menu?
Several firmwares disable it by policy, and on some devices the option sits one level deeper than expected. If it is greyed out, check the administrator settings; otherwise use the Windows driver route, which needs no menu at all.
Where is Print Test Page for a Toshiba in Windows?
Devices and Printers, right-click the queue, choose Printer properties — not the plain Properties entry — then Print Test Page on the General tab. On macOS, the same check runs from Options & Supplies in the print dialog.
Does a Toshiba test page consume toner?
Yes, both the built-in report and this sheet do. One sheet is negligible against a cartridge, so print a single pair when you are troubleshooting rather than looping through menu combinations.
