Printer test page
Print a printer test page straight from your browser in one click. Eight diagnostic sheets — nozzle check, alignment grid, CMYK separation, banding gradient and DPI chart — drawn as resolution-independent vector graphics, so they stay accurate at 300, 600 or 1200 DPI on A4, Letter or any paper size.
- Works with HP, Canon, Epson & Brother
- Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android
- A4 · Letter · Legal · A3 · A5
- No software to install
Set scaling to 100%. In the print dialog choose Actual Size (or 100%), never Fit to page — scaling distorts every measurement on the sheet. On a phone, tap Print → Save as PDF to check the layout first.
Which printer test page do I need?
Match your symptom to the right sheet. Printing the wrong test tells you nothing — printing the right one isolates the fault in a single page.
All printer test pages
Each sheet is generated on demand in your browser. Open one for the full diagnostic guide, or print it directly.
How to print a printer test page
Five steps. Step 3 is the one almost everybody skips — and it invalidates the whole test.
-
Load plain white paper
Glossy paper and photo modes change how ink lays down. Draft or eco mode skips nozzles by design and will show false gaps — turn it off.
-
Pick the pattern that matches your symptom
Missing colour → nozzle check. Crooked lines → alignment. Stripes in gradients → banding. The symptom list above maps every case.
-
Set scaling to Actual Size / 100%
Never Fit to page. Every pattern is dimensioned in millimetres, so scaling distorts it — circles print oval and grids stop being square.
-
Choose Best or High quality, colour mode
This is what makes the result meaningful. Draft mode and reduced ink volumes produce exactly the false gaps and banding you are trying to measure.
-
Print, read, clean once, reprint
Read the diagnosis table printed on the sheet itself. If you run a head cleaning cycle, reprint and compare against the first page — two cleanings maximum, then let the printer rest instead.
Why these test pages are vector, not images
Most free printer test pages are fixed-resolution PNG files. A 300 DPI image printed at 1200 DPI is upscaled and blurred, so the fine nozzle lines and resolution targets become meaningless — you end up measuring the picture, not the printer.
Every sheet here is generated as SVG using a millimetre coordinate system: one SVG unit equals exactly one millimetre. Your printer driver rasterises that vector geometry at whatever native resolution the hardware actually supports. The same file is correct at 300, 600 or 1200 DPI, and on A4, Letter, Legal, A3 or A5 paper.
It also means nothing is uploaded. The pattern is drawn in your browser and sent straight to your printer or your print-to-PDF driver.
Works with every printer brand
Any printer your device can print to — the patterns are universal, and the driver does the rest.

Laser or inkjet? The nozzle check is inkjet-only — laser printers have no nozzles to clog. Laser users should start with the black and white and banding pages.
Frequently asked questions
How do I print a printer test page online?
Choose a pattern, pick your paper size, press Print. The browser's normal print dialog opens. Set scaling to Actual Size or 100%, then print. On a phone, use AirPrint (iOS) or the Android print service. If you only want a file, choose Save as PDF as the destination.
What does a nozzle check test page tell me?
It prints fine lines for each ink channel. Continuous lines mean every nozzle is firing. Gaps or missing lines mean that channel is clogged — run one head cleaning cycle, then reprint to confirm. If gaps persist after two cleanings and a rest period, the head is likely damaged rather than dirty.
Why does my test page print at the wrong size?
Your print dialog is set to Fit to page. Switch to Actual Size or 100%. Every pattern here is dimensioned in millimetres, so scaling distorts it — concentric circles will come out oval and grids will not be square.
Which test page should I print first?
Nozzle check if colours are missing or prints are streaky. Alignment if lines are crooked or text looks doubled. Gradient and banding if solid bars look fine but gradients show stripes. Black and white if the problem is density or toner rather than ink.
Which printers and brands are supported?
Any printer your device can print to: HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Samsung, Lexmark, Xerox, Kyocera, Toshiba, Dell, Ricoh, Panasonic, OKI and Zebra, across inkjet, laser, colour laser, thermal and label printers. The nozzle check is inkjet-specific — laser printers have no nozzles, so start with the black and white or gradient page instead.
Are these printer test pages free and private?
Completely free, no account, no software to install. Nothing is uploaded — the pattern is generated in your browser and sent straight to your printer or your own print-to-PDF driver.
Can I use these pages on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Open the page in Safari or Chrome, tap Print, and choose your AirPrint or Android printer. If you only want a file, choose Save as PDF as the destination.
