Lexmark Printer Test Page
Lexmark calls its built-in report the Menu Settings Page and, on older machines, the Internal Test Page. Either way it is reached from the same corner of the control panel, and it tells you status while this sheet tells you quality.
Set scaling to 100%. Choose Actual Size in the print dialog, never Fit to page — scaling distorts every measurement on this sheet. The Download PDF button hands you that same sheet as a ready-made file, so there is no scaling decision to get wrong.
How to print the Lexmark Printer Test Page
- Load plain white paper and set quality to Best or High.
- Set scaling to Actual Size or 100% and print this sheet.
- Print the Menu Settings Page from the table above and keep both sheets together.
- Take status — toner life, page count, network settings — from the Lexmark report only.
- Judge density, line holds and repeating marks on this sheet, which is drawn for that purpose.
- Change one setting at a time and reprint the same file so the difference you see is the difference you made.

Reading the result
| Menu Settings Page and this sheet both print correctly | The queue, the engine and the supplies are all healthy. Anything still wrong is in the file or its driver settings. |
| Solids are grey rather than black | Toner is low or the density setting has been reduced. Compare the remaining-life figure on the Menu Settings Page with what you can see here before ordering anything. |
| Text edges feather on plain paper | The media type in the driver does not match the stock, or the fuser is running cool. Change the media setting first; only then suspect hardware. |
| The pattern shows a repeating mark | Note the pitch. A repeat equal to the drum circumference is a drum defect, a repeat equal to the fuser is a fuser defect, and neither will clear with a cleaning cycle. |
| Menu Settings Page will not print | Confirm the machine is in Ready rather than Sleep, and that no job is paused in the queue. Lexmark panels accept the command silently and then do nothing if a previous job is still holding the engine. |
Also check
- Black and white page — Density and text sharpness without colour conversion standing between you and the print engine.
- Grayscale test page — A toner ramp shows where a low cartridge starts to fail, which a single solid black block on the report cannot.
- Resolution chart — Confirms whether fine detail survives at the resolution the driver claims, which is the first thing lost as toner runs out.

- B&W printer test page — Removing colour from the equation isolates density, toner coverage and fine detail problems.
- Greyscale printer test page — A grey ramp with no colour in it makes tonal problems, colour casts and scaling errors impossible to miss.

Frequently asked questions
How do I print a Menu Settings Page on a Lexmark touchscreen printer?
Press the Settings button in the lower-right corner of the panel, follow the green arrow to Menu Settings Page, and confirm. The report prints and the machine returns to Ready. Lexmark also refers to it as the Internal Test Page.
What does the Lexmark Menu Settings Page contain?
Current user settings, firmware levels, installed options, cartridge status and tray configuration. It is a status and reference page, not a quality test, so it will not reveal banding, fading or a worn drum.
How do I print a test page on a Lexmark without a touchscreen?
Press Menu, scroll to Print Test Page, and press Select. On models with a utility installed, the same check sits on the Cartridges tab of the Lexmark utility.
Where is Print Test Page for Lexmark in Windows?
Devices and Printers, right-click the Lexmark queue, choose Printer properties — not the plain Properties entry — and press Print Test Page on the General tab. The same dialog holds the port and spooler settings if the page refuses to print.
Why does the Lexmark report look perfect while my documents look bad?
Because the report is generated inside the printer from fixed data and never travels through the driver. A fault that appears only in documents sits in the driver, the application or the file, and printing this sheet through the same driver isolates which one.
